Hello Friends and fellow Rotarians,
Thank you for everything you do to help keep Malden Rotary active and involved in making our community a better place for all to live, work and enjoy!  Your attendance at the lunch club meetings, service club socials and club sponsored events mean more than just getting together socially; it means that we continue to come together in shared ideals with a commitment to Service Above Self and we are about to demonstrate the power of our strength in numbers!
Our next 'Service Club Social' will be Wednesday, May 3, 5:30 pm at the Pearl Street Restaurant, 53 Pearl Street, Malden, MA. I hope you will continue to join us and network with our friends who come to explore what we are doing in our community and beyond.  Please spread the word about our new meetings and continue to invite guests and friends to come by and say hello.
Over the next few weeks you will see that we are going to be getting more active and back to our roots of service. Our meetings will be beginning to be more productive. I anticipate that we will be taking one Lunch Meeting a month where we do either a planning session or actively completing a task while we enjoy lunch. Our Service Club Socials will be adding a similar component where we will be adding a more substantive element surrounding our service projects.
If you check the website, you will see we have populated the calendar with our meeting schedules, events from District 7930 and Rotary International, and our new 'Service Saturday' Events.  Service Saturdays will be held once a month and where we will truly begin to be an active and productive service club in our community. On May 13th we will be assisting our very own Rotarian Liz Hart at the Hallmark Health Mobile Food Mart. Liz will be serving as this month "Mobile Food Mart Event Chair." I am hopeful that we will have a great turnout to support Liz and most importantly many hands to help serve those in need.
District 7930 will be hosting the 2017 District Conference on May 19-20, 2017 at Hawthorne Hotel, Salem, Massachusetts. We encourage members to attend and enjoy a great night where you can the "Experience the Magic" of Rotary. Please contact myself or David Hart if you would like to attend or
register here.  Also, if you cannot attend the Conference in it's entirety take a look at the a la carte options and take part in a way that fits your schedule.

I hope this new newsletter will help keep you more informed and drive more activity to our events. I will continue to send out weekly emails but will compile information for this monthly bulletin, so please email me when you see or want to highlight other community events that would be relevant to our club's efforts.
I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday at the Pearl Street Station.
Yours in service,

Marc Gattineri Joins Malden Rotary
We had a great day at Malden Rotary. President Mark Lawhorne presented new member Marc Gattineri with his Certificate of Membership and also presented Secretary/Treasurer David Hart with a new Paul Harris Fellow Pin. This was David's third Paul Harris Fellow recognition, thus the pin is adorned with three sapphires.
