Malden Rotary starts evening club to make itself more accessible to new members!
Seeking to attract new members and offer itself as a way to be a part of the Malden community, the Rotary Club of Malden will now meet on the first Wednesday of each month at the Pearl Street Station from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. "We are not your grandfather's Rotary Club anymore," said President Mark Lawhorne. "The workforce is changing and the ability for service minded people to attend a lunch meeting is diminishing, we need to change with the times. Our mission isn't changing, but our accessibility is. In order to meet our goal of giving back to our community we need more people that want to be involved."
"The Malden community is diversifying in many categories: age, race, ethnicity, and economics. Our club membership should be no different and that's a good thing; we need new members to reflect and represent the community we serve," President Mark continued. "We invite people to come down and network with us, learn what we are doing to make our community a better place to live. If your living here and leaving the city every day to go to work, but are looking for a way to be part of the community - come see what we can offer."
